Q R is for "Quiet" Lunch at Ruby's

What does a local family do on their last day together when it's absolutely stunning outside and you've got multiple giftcards for the same restaurant?!?! Good guess - go out to lunch at Ruby's Diner - our iconic cafe at the end of the Huntington Beach Pier.

While we were at the Family Camp, the Clark family was honoured for being "most encouraging" during the family games?!? The prize - a heap of lollies and a Ruby's giftcard! Yahoo! Amber and Jason had one from their anniversary, so we put our funds together and along with Dad and the Ambrose kids we had a fun lunch after church on Sunday 30 September. A lunch which was anything but quiet...

Dad gave Tony a belated birthday present - a box of See's candy - which of course got passed around the lunch table...

after being cut into halves so we could 'sample' the different flavours... we're a very thoughtful family... HA!

What a stunning day - Southern California is always like this!!! I'm not joking... well, it is a slight exaggeration... I mean come on, it would be impossible to have clear skies, sunshine, no smog, low humidity and low wind every single day all year long... but wow... I was thankful that this particular visit was pretty much like this most days!!

So after this not so quiet lunch, Tony said good-bye to the rest of the family and we took him back to the airport in LA to say our good-byes as he headed out on the European leg of his business trip. While he was sitting in meetings in Belgium, Paris and London, we stuck around Orange County for another 10+ days.
