Peaceful Morning Treasures

I'm not sure why we haven't done this before, but this year on the last two mornings with Dad and Mom we went for a walk down to the tidal pools where we caught glimpses of sea life through our own reflections, collected rocks and breathed in the serenity of still consistency. Well, that was the first day when it was just Dad, Helena, Tony and myself... the next day a whole bunch of us went down and though it wasn't as serene and still - it still was beautiful and fun!

Day 2 down at the tidal pools was even more beautiful because there were fewer clouds. This was Mom and Dad's last day and good grief - it was the sunniest, most amazing of all! See the difference?

While the Cameron parents were packing up their stuff, we offered to take the children exploring with us. Will, explorer extraordinaire, found a 'dinosaur bone' which became 'just a bone' which he did not put down for the majority of the walk. Good find, buddy!
 Liberty had a great ride!
Hey Uncle Tony, are those antlers on your head?
I love this - boys just being boys... the boys of summer!
Lara had a pretty good haul... she found heaps of cool things.
 Tribal Shot
Ruby Simkin adopted Helena's Nana as her own... my mom did not mind one bit!

I think this will become a more traditional part of our camping experience... we'll add it to the likes of the body-surfing competition, the trip to the Strawberry Patch and Te Mata Peak!
