Summer Fun...

Summer in New Zealand is rather short. Six weeks - including Christmas, New Year holidays... so that really just left us about three weeks to enjoy sun, pools, friends and beach. I tried to maximise the fun while we could!!! YAHOO!!!! I think we've done okay!

ARISE Kids went to the zoo one morning - oh what fun for the kids to hang out with their church friends mid-week!

Island Bay is such a fun little cove... we'll have to come back with daddy!!!

We ate outside quite a bit - breakfast, lunch, or dinner... it gave us that special campy feeling - especially when the flies started coming along for picnics!

There were rainy day activities - thankfully we've got a covered deck (with a few leaks)!

 Breakfast along the waterfront... NICE!!!

Dog beach with Ricco!!! Now that was a fun experience - we don't even need to buy a pet... we could just cruise here when the kids are feeling the need for doggy time!

 Summer snack hunt...

 Kite-flying?!?!

We had a couple of walks to the supermarket just to get out of the house on those few days the weather wasn't so terrific. Helena decided she'd walk her Bitty Baby in the stroller... it was pretty cute... but the funny part was that Hunter was driving his remote control car along the foot path too! We must've been an interesting sight!

Summer is for games and good times!

Ooooh, we planted some trees - grapefruit, lemon, lime - now we need to wait... and wait... and wait!

We had Christmas twice! Thanks to our dear friends Grace & Peter who met up with our folks in California during a trip to the US, our kids were totally spoilt! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa and all the rest of the family who sent over the cool stuff!

Oh yes, and summer is more fun with a compost bin... well, not sure why that would make it more fun... but it added to our outdoor adventures at home.

Unfortunately I don't have photos of those pool visits and beach days... but rest assured, the Kiwi kids did summer pretty well!
