10 Years...

of wedded bliss!!!

This past weekend (29 June) Tony and I had the amazing opportunity to celebrate our first ten years of marriage! Our super dear friends Uncle Mike and Auntie Anne offered to take the kids for two nights - so I packed up their gear and a bunch of snacks, kissed them good-bye and drove off into the sunset giddy like a honeymooner! We had a fun dinner at the Flying Burrito Brothers in town feasting on our all-time favourite - Mexican food!!! We opted for an early night back at home and watched a dvd in the comfort of our own electric blanketed bed! Pure bliss...

Before we got married we were given a book called "His Needs, Her Needs" by Willard F. Harley, Jr. - the thoughts and advice have stuck with us throughout our marriage (or at least we try) and it seems this weekend we were able to hit most of these main bits! Since we had no children with us, we got to walk hand-in-hand and have uninterrupted conversations over meals I didn't cook.  On Saturday morning after a long-anticipated sleep-in we worked out together at home. Then intending to explore a new region, we ended up at a local mall that we've never spent time at where Tony challenged my (non)fashion paradigm and updated my wardrobe into this decade. We caught an early movie, a Thai dinner and a long walk along the windless waterfront!!! It was such a lovely weekend - remembering and looking ahead!

And to think - these were only the first ten years... oh how wonderful the next ten will be... and the ten after that... and the ten after that... and the ...
