Around Home

Most mornings, after kissing daddy good-bye, the kids run to our bedroom and throw back the curtain to watch through the window as Tony makes his way up the street to the bus stop. They knock on the window shouting toward the street "Daddy, daddy - Good-bye!!!" and as he gets to the top of the hill he turns and waves the final farewell for the morning. Then we carry on with our day... until night time when dad is just about home - the kids think it's funny to run and hide somewhere in the house so Tony has to search for them. One night they even took the torch to the window to spot him on his way home. These guys LOVE their daddy!!! And daddy LOVES them!!! There's a lot of LOVE in this house!

One morning we decided to get out of the house for a bit of family recreation. We walked up the street to our local playground and spent about fifteen minutes just fooling around together. It was a chilly morning - but that didn't stop the giggles. I love that we can be silly together - just wonder how the neighbors feel about family fun at 7am!!!!

Helena's been having some issues with eczema lately so we've been trying all sorts of stuff for the past six weeks. She did some soaking in lumpy emulsifying ointment or pinetarsoral, we've tried new potions, now we're waiting for results from blood tests about food allergies. Through all of it, we are praying for her and believing that God will  grow her out of it and she won't have to deal with it when she's older. In the meantime, she's off dairy, off soap, off red food-colouring... she's a good sport about it, it's just not fun to see your beautiful daughter's skin so scaly and it really isn't nice to watch her scratch (well, having to tell her to stop is not fun either). But she's still got that classic Helena smile and cheekiness!!!

Oh and you'll be lining up to stay with us... Simon the spider was found on the wall one early morning... YIKES! Though you'll be relieved to know he's no longer here.
