Ups and Downs of Childhood/ Parenthood

Hunter's Kindy Disco -

Ups: I didn't have to cook dinner;

We got to stay up past regular bedtime;

We contributed to the kindy fundraiser; 

 Helena got to dress up as a butterfly princess;

 Hunter got to see his buddies;

 Helena got to dance and sing... beautiful!!!

Kindy Disco Downs:

kids hungry because sausages and cake and lollies and ice cream just don't fill you up;

kids making poor decisions because they're hungry because sausages and cake and lollies and ice cream just don't fill you up; mom getting frustrated while trying to make good decisions for kids who are hungry because sausages and cake and lollies and ice cream just don't fill them up.

Saturday Morning

Ups: got to go for a bike ride with a friend;

same friend looked after the kids while I did inspection on our rental property;

beautiful, clear day;

 creative kids found a bush as fun as a trampoline!

Downs: daddy had to study and couldn't enjoy the beautiful clear sunshine; kids melted down so as to miss a wedding ceremony, but led to an up...

 dropping by at just the right time to say congratulations and all the best to the bride and groom without having had to wrestle, conjole, bribe or hush the children.

Super up... as illustrated by the pruniness of Hunter's feet - I need to remember to give the kids time to just enjoy themselves sometimes and not be on a schedule every moment of each day... and then remember to look for the Ups!!!
