Sometimes you just have to combine your celebrations, eh? Since Tony was on his course in Canberra on our actual anniversary we had to postpone our date. What better way to celebrate than for Tony to take a day off work and spend the 4th of July enjoying a bit of recreational companionship out in the beauty of the greater Wellington region?!? We did what we would've done if we were in California on the 4th - we took a bike ride (though there were no red, white or blue tassles on our bikes, no flags flown, nor streamers through our tires) along a beautiful waterway and ended up at Ruby's Cafe for a coffee and bap instead of Ruby's Diner for a milkshake and burger (all the local HB crew would catch the difference) - both traditional ways to spend Independence Day in our hometown, just with a non-traditional twist. Regardless, we appreciated our few hours of independence (Hunter was at Kindy and Helena was with a friend) as we reflected on the interdependence we've developed over these nine wonderful years of marriage so far...
and the best is always yet to come!!!
