With the kids settling into school, I've been trying to find my own rhythm during the school days... but since the weather has been so AMAZING we've been enjoying the beauty which is Wellington!
One morning after dropping the kids off, a few of us moms went over to Adiam's house for morning tea - she made us a traditional Ethiopian coffee along with a few other traditional goodies. It's so neat to have a new network of friends who care about our kid's values and education. This is going to be a great experience as part of Miramar Christian School.
On a super sunny non-windy day after school, we decided to hit the beach for a bit of homework time at Worser Bay...
We emptied out the elephants and made a big deposit at the local ASB... it's amazing how many coins these kids had been able to stuff into those plastic elephants over the year. Well saved kids!
Tony went to Christchurch for the day so the kids and I did all sorts of things until we realised just how beautiful it was outside... with a little over an hour before daddy's return, we hit the beach again to soak up the stunning Wellington rays!
Around home, it had also been incredibly warm and beautiful and we love taking advantage of the loveliness by eating outside.
.
The chickens are settling in well and Helena has settled into her role as the "chicken whisperer"... she is so good with them and they are learning to just relax when she's near... they are pretty smart.
On a clear afternoon we took a Team Tauhinu bike ride along the waterfront... the award for best effort totally goes to Helena who rode her little girl fixed speed bike the full 5km while the rest of us had our gears to help us cope. Thanks Calder and Emma for a fun afternoon - just before the rain started...
Tony went to Christchurch on another Saturday so after we dropped him off at the airport we decided to hit the fruit market to get it out of the way but we were so early that I picked up hot chocolates and we waited... they thought that was a pretty good way to start the day! Next, we had some friends come over for a delicious pancake breakfast and had a great time until...
Hunter stepped on a nail... oops! Ouch!!!
Leitaya and Helena had a great time colouring, playing with the chickens and generally being girls running around the backyard together!
Tony's been having a good time with his cycling buddies lately... they have all sorts of manly things to discuss in the foyer at church...
