Helena finally lost some teeth... and just happened to lose them both around the same time... check out the toothless beauty!
April = LEGO Competition! This was Hunter's ray gun that he put a lot of effort into this year! We also joined up with a few friends at the Toy World in town for the annual Lego Event...
We didn't come back with as many goodies as in the past, but we did get some goodies from McD's and some fun in the sun during the school holidays!
Mrs Shelley gave Helena a puzzle to work out over the school holidays... there was a bit of help from the parents, but 500 pieces was a big job!
We became accidental gardeners! We found a pumpkin and some corn growing in our garden/chicken coop area. Neither tasted good, but hey - it's fun to find something alive out there.
Speaking of alive... we had our first bout with nits/lice in April. YUCK!!! Tony and Hunter had an easy way to deal with it... but Helena and I had to have 'the treatment' for about 3 weeks. Thankfully, it was only three weeks... we heard some real horror stories from other families about the persistence of nits. This is one of those times Tony's tendency toward 'meticulous' paid off.
It's hard to believe that Derek and Minzhen have been parents for a year already... but sure enough, Alysson's 1st birthday party filled the Churton Park community centre with eager party-goers!
Derek and Grace know how to party and how to enlist help... they called it a "thank you party" because they recognise how important it is to have a community to help bring up a child. I love their attitude and outlook!
The school holidays weren't very exciting because I had two essays to write - one in each week. Though the kids did manage to have some fun around home with a few sewing projects, a lot of movies, a lot of wii and a few playdates along the way.
One of our 'outings' was a trip to the renovated Johnsonville Pool where we met up with some Arise families and Rocket Leaders for some fresh fun! Olivia Barber snapped this photo of Helena and called her "flipping awesome"! Hilarious!!!
My hair is really getting silver along the edges... I must be getting wiser!?!
Helena is fearless - she wrote a song and sang it at Totara assembly in front of the school.. now to nurture this passion!
Mother's Day goodness...
Happy Mother's Day Gaylynn Ambrose! You learned from the best, and you keep adding to that foundation of faith. You have such a beautiful empathy that draws people to you. I love you. Have a great time being celebrated as the mother you are to so many!
