Flying Feb...

February flew by...

We love having the Carroll's over for dinner and we have what seems to be an annual tradition (though we were a month later this year on 5 Feb) of getting together for a good meal and great, honest conversation. We appreciate these guys and all that they do for the church... and we appreciate their friendship just as much!

After a month of summer holidays and a bit of separation, these boys were happy to be back together... male bonding starts with wii together.

On Monday 8 Feb a bunch of us gathered at the Arise Centre ground-breaking ceremony where we prayed over and gave thanks for this land that is going to be built into a 'church' building to house our offices and new Hutt Campus.
These are exciting times in the life of Arise Church!

Dr Rich was the one who helped sort out Helena's prescription... He and Tony hit the dumpling shop for a gourmet lunch - well, some of the best dumplings Tony's had in a long time.

FB from 19/2:
What a day of unexpected adventure and savings! Took the car to a radiator specialist for a $450 savings (mechanic was charging more)... While wandering thru CBD my jandals broke but that didn't deter me from walking back to pick up the car barefooted! Hilarious... Good thing the sun came out or I would've paid the bus fare and forfeited my milkshake.

As part of my day of savings, Tony and I met up for a Friday date at Civic Square to listen to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo's performance. We sat with Felicity and her kids for most of it, then walked through town back to Lambton Quay for a quick lunch. What a day!

Helena finally lost her front tooth on 20 Feb... the second one followed shortly after... but I'll save those photos for later.

Bev had been in town for the full Tattoo over the weekend,
so on her way to back to Auckland on 22 Feb we had a ladies lunch at Maranui Surf Café - it's always great to spend time with this special Mama!

On Wednesday 24 Feb, Hunter participated in the Eastern Zone Cricket tournament. Since my course hadn't started yet, I did my last dash as parent help and spent the afternoon with these cool kids.

Tony rode his bike over to catch Hunter at bat in one game... overall, Hunter did quite well and really enjoyed it. I just hope he didn't enjoy it too much... we're not so sure we're ready to commit to hours of cricket...
but it was fun to see him get into it for the day!

Super dad took the kids out for a bit of exploration in the sunshine, then the next night he took them to the Wellington Phoenix football game for their first big Cake Tin experience on Friday 26 Feb!

,
The best part according to the kids? We WON!!!

On Sunday, 28 Feb
we gathered for worship at Gateway Baptist Church for the annual MCS welcome service.
The kids welcomed us with a song after receiving their student council badges.
Helena is the Year 3 Representative this year and she's pretty excited about it!

FINALLY - that tooth that had been dangling for days came out!!!
Now as of 29 Feb she'll be known as the "toothless wonder" -
that is until her teeth grow back!

And that's a rap of February...
Oh wait...

There's something else we did in Feb...
