Seriously, another birthday!?! This growing up thing happens so fast!
We had a great idea for Hunter's birthday celebration this year - pool party sleepover! Wellington Anniversary landed on Monday 25 January - so we decided to party at the Wainuiomata Summer Pool with the Burrows' family, Robyn Rae & her kids plus Ruben Teal and Gillian & Will! What a grand idea!!! The boys went up and down the water slide and in and out of the pool for at least two hours before even having snacks!!!
But of course it wouldn't be a party without cake so we sang happy birthday to Hunter and got into the 'official' festivities!
After everyone had gotten changed, we said good-bye to the Cameron's who were on their way to summer camp. With a large order of fish and chips waiting at the Petone foreshore, we had a relaxing meal along the waterfront, then said good-bye to the rest of the parents and took our little truckload of party animals home for some more birthday fun!
At home, the boys got their ice cream fix then got their sleeping bags ready in the lounge for some movie time. After the movie, somehow some of them migrated upstairs to sleep in Hunter's room - oh wait, that was Hunter sleeping in his own room while the other boys slept in the lounge on the floor... he is pretty smart!
They scored a pancake breakfast before taking Hunter & Helena to soccer camp...
and while Hunter and Helena were at soccer camp, I drove the carload to McD's in Johnsonville so their moms could come pick them up for the rest of the day!
It was such a fun party and Hunter really enjoyed his friends. It hit me that morning as I carted them home that we will be doing this each year til they're in their teens... how crazy will that be!?! I'm so grateful that Hunter has good buddies with good parents! It is a real gift.
