Morning Walk

Tony is on study leave this week... which means... well, it means many things. It means he is almost finished with his Executive Masters of Public Administration through the Australia New Zealand School of Government! Phew, and if you think it's a mouthful just to say it - just think of how much work he must've put into this over the past two years!?!? We have partnered together as he has structured his nights, weekends and the occasional trip to Australia all around reading, learning, contributing, stretching, networking, developing and analysing. I am very proud of my husband - he has worked very hard. And he has done well. But before I get into all the reasons I love Tony, let's get back to the point - study leave means he's a bit flexible with time.

This morning we woke up to bright blue skies and very loud birds. Instead of doing our "Rushfit" Training routine, he decided we should walk Helena to her kindergarten. Why do I never think of doing that?!? Well, it's daddy's job to come up with the cool ideas so off we went (after a quick breakfast, lunchbox assembly, teeth brushing, clothes changing, helmet gathering, shoe swapping, toilet going... oh maybe this is why I haven't thought to do it).

It was fun to travel our normal route on foot... and really, what a stunning morning!

Down the steepest curve of Ironside Road (outside our place) and along the shadiest stretch, Hunter was flying on his scooter with many shouts, "Stop" "Slow down" "Wait" - we did have the chat about checking for cars in driveways, etc...

Along Philips Street we have to pass St Brigid's School...

and a dairy. It's not a temptation when we're driving, but when you're on ground level... (truth be known, Tony did stop to get Hunter a drink on the way home - see, Dad's have the good ideas - and the money in the pockets, as was the case today).

Once we made it onto Bannister, Helena needed a bit of encouragement...

but soon enough our destination was in sight!!!

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to show Daddy all the fun things in her portfolio...
So all up, it took us less than 30 minutes (to get there), so we may do it again... but then again... maybe we'll keep it as a Daddy idea!

And then she stayed for more learning, while the three of us went back home to get into our studies for the rest of the day (and for Tony that day hasn't ended...)
